Get your visitors to gang up on you!

What am I taking about? Quite simply, most exhibitors spend too much time talking to too few people.

Time and time again I see "successful" stands where the staff are all engaged in talking to visitors. While they are deep in conversation with these hopefully good, solid prospects, a myriad of other show visitors are walking by. Many of these could have been good, solid prospects too.

But now they are simply passers by. Oh, some of them will have thought, "That looks interesting, I must come back when they are less busy." Mostly they won't return though. They will have forgotten all about you by the time they have struggled round the rest of the show. And, of course, most of them will not even have had that thought; they simply ignored your crowded, busy stand and will not give it another thought as they wade on through the show.

What to do?
Talk to groups of good, solid prospects. Simple, really.

What you must have for this idea to work is a compelling, interactive presentation and stand staff who are capable of engaging with and holding on to passing visitors who fit your definition of a good, solid prospect.

Which implies you have a sparkling approach script, conversationally adept staff and a first class presenter to deliver the compelling interactive part.

Dare to be different!
This is all a far cry from what we get from most stands. What is mostly delivered is the same dreary pitch that keeps your sales team underperforming all through the rest of the year.

So, dare to be different. Give your visitors an experience and send them away feeling exhilarated and excited.

And it wouldn't hurt to try doing something to get your staff feeling the same way.
